Vision of...

...the King's Community Church 2009

We are committed to be a relevant contemporary church that equips and encourages people to:

 reaching out

Reach Out to our Community: Our motivation comes from the words spoken by Jesus as he was about to leave his followers and return to his father. As a group of Christ followers we believe it is out privilege and prime responsibility to communicate God's love to the world in which we live, by living a great life, by telling of what God has done in our lives and by demonstrating His love in every relationship and at every opportunity, both by our personal walk through life and by our corporate witness expressed through the life of KCC, Aberdeen.

The Great Commission
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20

 up to god

Reach Up to Our God: All of us journey through life on a road we have never travelled before. As Christ followers we are committed to know God more every day, endeavouring to be shaped in our attitudes, values and behaviours. This involves: Personal Discipleship, drawing close to God on a daily basis and Corporate Devotion, where together as a local church we worship God, and receive challenge from the Bible, God's Road map for life's journey. It is our aim to respond to Jesus invitation given to men and women trying to find purpose and meaning for life.

The Great Command
The most important commandment," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' Mark 12:29-30

into destiny

Reach Into Our Destiny: We believe that each person is a unique and valued individual, created in God's image and with a unique and special purpose in life. It is our privilege to realise and release the God given potential inside each one of us. Discovering the purpose for our lives involves a process of Personal Maturity, growing daily in our understanding of what being a Christ follower means and Corporate Mobilisation, releasing each person to fulfill what is in their heart. The local church of the first century was encouraged to consider itself as a body with varied and important functions and that each person was a vital part of that body, with a unique part to play. This encouragement forms the basis of our motivation to work out in our lives what God has put in.

The Great Commitment

It was Jesus who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:16

The prophetic word spoken over this church is more pertinent than ever.

"Not by might, not by power but by my Spirit says the LORD"
